🍺 This Harry Potter-inspired Butter Beer is a fun recipe to make with the Keiki this holiday season, and it can be enjoyed warm or cold!

1/4 cup butterscotch syrup
½ tbsp butter, softened
8 oz. cream soda
whipped topping (optional)

Mix the softened butter and butterscotch together, until well incorporated. Pour cream soda into the mixture and stir.

Pour the Butter Beer into chilled cups or enjoy warm. Top with whipped cream for a little extra mischief!

GET CRAFTIN':
🧹 Glow sticks (the bracelet ones)
🧹 Recyced KTA Paper Bag
🧹 Double-sided tape
🧹 Scissors

Remember the following instructions:

Cut a section of the paper bag to be approximately 5" in height, and as thick as you want the broom brush to be.

Cut thin strips along the bottom of the paper, stopping 1" before the other edge.

Add a long piece of double-sided tape to the non-cut edge of the paper.

Position the plastic connector on a glow stick just below the tape.

Roll the paper around the glow stick. The double-sided tape will hold it together as you go.

Keep rolling until the paper is entirely rolled up.

Finish off with a small piece of twine.

This will make for a perfect addition to a Halloween treat!

GET TREATIN':
🎃 dessert plates
🎃 orange tissue paper
🎃 ribbon
🎃 candy
🎃 gallon-sized clear bags
🎃 permanent marker
🎃 tape


Place assorted candy in a dessert plate. Flip a second plate upside down over the candy. Tape edges securing the two plates to each other.

Cover the plates with tissue paper, bunching the excess on one end as the pumpkin top. Tape as needed on the back to keep the tissue in place.

Slip the pumpkin into a clear bag and tie the top closed with ribbon.

Tape the corners of the clear bag to the back of the pumpkin

Using a permanent marker, draw a jack-o-lantern face on the front of the pumpkin. You can also cut out shapes with black paper and glue on the pumpkin as an alternative.

Fill the glove fingers first with the longest candies. Stuff the remaining sections of the glove with extra smaller candy. When full, twist the glove closure and secure it with a ribbon. Tie a knot and curl the ribbon to finish!

Happy National Play-Dough Day! 🔴 D.I.Y Play Doh 🔵 is the perfect indoor activity for keiki. (Hint: save this for Fall break coming up!)

GET MIXINʻ:
🔴 2 cups all-purpose flour
🟠 ¾ cup salt
🟡 4 tsp cream of tartar
🟢 2 cups lukewarm water
🔵 2 tbsp of vegetable oil (coconut oil works too)
🟣 Food coloring, optional
🟤 Quart sized bags

Stir together the flour, salt, and cream of tartar in a large pot.
Next, add the water and oil.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly.
Keep stirring until the dough thickens.
Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly. Then knead until smooth.
If you’re adding colors, divide the dough into the amount of colors you want.
Add the dough into a quart-sized bag and add some food coloring.
Knead the dough while inside the bag so it doesn’t stain your hands
Once the dough has absorbed most of the food coloring you can take it out of the bag and knead until completely mixed.
Then you’re ready to PLAY.

Twist a local classic into a summer burst of flavor with WATERMELON POKE! It offers the same savory umami taste as fish poke with a subtle hint of sweetness. (Trust us, don't knock it 'til you try it!)

🍉 1 small watermelon, cut into 1" slices
🍉 1 tbsp Hawaiian Salt
🍉 1 tbsp sesame oil
🍉 5 tbsp shoyu
🍉 2 tbsp neutral oil
🍉 Sriracha or chili pepper (to taste)
🍉 1 nori sheet, crumbled
🍉 inamona (optional)

Preheat oven to 370ºF. Cut watermelon into 1" slices, remove rind, and place on a baking sheet. Sprinkle with a little salt and bake for 1 hour or until dark in color and reduced slightly in size. (depending on the thickness of your slices)

While baking, prepare the marinade by combining sesame oil, shoyu, oil, Sriracha, and crumbled nori.

Remove baked watermelon from oven and let cool.

Dice the baked watermelon and drain any excess liquid. Toss with marinade and let sit for 15-30 minutes or refrigerate until you’re ready to serve. Top with desired toppings (inamona, limu kohu etc.)

Shake it up this summer and make 🍦 HOMEMADE ICE CREAM🍦. The perfect activity for keiki of all ages!

GET SHAKIN':
🍦 ½ cup milk
🍦 1 tbsp sugar
🍦 ¼ tsp vanilla
🍦 ice
🍦 6 tbsp salt
🍦 1 gallon-size zip-type plastic bag
🍦 1 pint-size zip-type plastic bag

Fill the large bag half full of ice.
Add in salt, seal, and set aside.
In the smaller bag add milk, vanilla, and sugar. Seal give it a gentle mix.
Place the small bag inside the large bag, seal it, and shake until the mixture thickens into ice cream.
And you can get the whole family involved.
Do this for about 5 minutes.
Then add your favorite toppings and enjoy!

🎓 Large Paper Bag
*For a simple lei you only need one bag, for a fuller version you’ll 2-3 bags
🎓 Scissors
🎓 Pen

- Recycle a KTA paper bag. Cut off the bottom of the bag, then flatten and fold into fourths length-wise.
- Sketch an outline of a leaf and cut around the shape. Then cut each leaf in half down the longest length.
- Trim half of the cut leaves at an angle horizontally to make smaller filler leaves.
- Hold the ends of two long pieces together with a clothespin & weight or have a friend hold the other end.
- Twist both leaves to the right. Next, pass the right stand over the left. Repeat until you’ve twisted a couple inches in length.
- Add a filler to the lei. Pinch a shorter leaf in the middle and place between the rope. Twist right over left to hold it in place for about 3-4 twists, then add another leaf.
- Like a ti-leaf lei, if your rope strands come to an end, add on a new leaf by twisting it into the original strand to continue that piece.
- Repeat this process until you have reached your desired length.
- To end your lei tie a knot and you are done!

#protip spritz with water to make tighter twists.

Wrap an egg with a wet paper towel. "Tie" with rubber bands. Add drops of food coloring around the egg. Experiment with different colors!

Use a spray bottle and lightly spray around your egg to help the colors bleed.

Let sit for 15 to 30 minutes. The longer your egg sits, the more intense the colors will be!

Over the sink, carefully unwrap your eggs. Rinse or wipe off excess dye.

We hope your Easter has GOOD VIBES ONLY!

Protip: This one can get a little messy, gloves are recommended to avoid tie-dye hands too!

These BUNNY PIZZA's are a fun and tasty way to get keiki to eat their veggies and makes for a fun Easter appetizer!

GET BAKIN':
🍕 1 pkg crescent rolls
🍕 1/4 cup mayonnaise
🍕 1/4 cup sour cream
🍕 6 oz. cream cheese, softened or spreadable
🍕 4 tsp Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing mix
🍕 1 1/2 cup carrots, shredded
🍕 1 1/2 cup broccoli, chopped

🐇 Preheat oven to 375℉. Unroll and smooth out the crescent roll dough on a cookie sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes and let cool.

While the crescents are baking, prep your veggies and spread. Mix mayonnaise, sour cream, cream cheese, and ranch until smooth.

When crescent sheet is cool, cut into triangles. Spread the cream cheese mixture over each triangle and top with carrots towards the point and broccoli on the wide end for the crust.

Refrigerate until ready to serve.

🥚 Dying eggs got a little more creative this year! We're trying something new with COOL WHIP + FOOD COLORING & CRAYONS!

GET COLORIN':

🌈 First, dry your eggs well. We started with crayons to add designs, or in this case a portrait of mom. Crayons are waxy and resist well from washing or rubbing off.

🌈 Next add a marbling effect using Cool Whip! Fill a cupcake tin with a little whipped cream in each cup. Add in a few drops of food coloring. Think about how colors will blend and which colors compliment each other. Using a chopstick, swirl the colors into the whipped cream.

🌈 Roll dried eggs into the marbled whipped cream and let sit for 15 minutes or so.

🌈 Rinse the eggs under cold water to reveal your creation!

🥚 #protip: For bolder colors, soak your eggs in vinegar for 5 to 10 minutes before coloring. We kept it light so our drawings would show through!

The best part about this, is taste testing the whip cream in between egg drops! 😉

Did the year fly by for you too?! Graduation totally snuck up on us, and we needed a lei. This D.I.Y. Candy lei was ready in under 5 minutes, using supplies we already had at home!


GET CRAFTIN':
🎓 Plastic Cling Wrap
🎓 Curling Ribbon
🎓 Individually Wrapped Candy
🎓 Scissors

🍬 Unroll plastic wrap to the length you'll need for the lei.
Adult Lei: 40+ inches
Keiki Lei: 30+ inches
*If your roll is wide, cut length in half.
🍬 Arrange candies into a line down the center of the wrap.
🍬 Fold plastic wrap over the candies snuggly, and press down to seal.
🍬 Cut ribbon or string to lengths long enough to tie a knot on each side of the candy.
🍬 Tie ribbon between each candy.
🍬 At the end, layer both ends to they overlap each other and use a ribbon to secure them together with a knot.
🍬 Finish with a bow!


*Note: Length of lei will vary depending on the recipient. The lei in the video were intended for keiki (about 30" long). For an adult we recommend at least 40".

🍫 Tape skewers to the back of the candy bars. *some bars may need 2 skewers for length & support.
🍫 Arrange the bars in position by tapering the height and spacing. *This is where you may notice your candy bar needs an extra skewer.
🍫 Finalize the arrangement and secure with string or ribbon. *Multiple ties may be needed to hold the skewers in place.
🍫 Carefully place the arrangement over tissue paper and told the ends towards the center.
🍫 Secure with a tie and finish with a bow!
*Careful, the bouquet will be heavy. Keep in a cool area, out of direct sunlight, so the candy doesn't melt!

Make an extra special bento for your keiki featuring Koinobori made from smokie sausages or vienna sausage!

GET COOKIN:
🎏 Cut sausage in half, lengthwise
🎏 Cut a "v" on one end of the sausage for the tail
🎏 Make "cross hatch" type cuts on the middle section for the fish scales
🎏 Heat/cook sausage to your liking
🎏 Use a slice of white cheese for the eyes. Punch a hole using a straw
🎏 Protip: use a toothpick to push the cheese circle out of the straw end!
🎏 Cut a tiny circle of other eye shapes out of nori for the eye pupil
🎏 Using a toothpick, apply the white cheese circles to the cooked sausage, and top with nori
🎏 "Hang" your koinobori on a toothpick, but inserting the toothpick through the head of 3 stacked fish.
🎏 Build your bento with your child's favorites. Make it extra fun by adding faces!

GET PLANTING:
🌱 Fill each egg cup with potting soil and place seeds at the appropriate depth. Water the seeds to get
the soil moist but not soaking.
🌱 Find a nice sunny spot for your seeds to live and watch them grow!

🌱 Tip: Put the top of the egg carton under the plant starters to catch extra moisture and drainage from watering. Or use an extra tray.

Dyeing Easter eggs can get a little messy. Especially with toddlers! For a less-mess Egg Dyeing Hack, cut a baby wipe in half and decorate with a marker! Wrap the eggs in the wipe and use a rubber band to hold the wipe in place for at least 30 minutes.

Have your little bunnies help you make these cute BUNNY NAPKINS to decorate the table!

🐇 Starting at one point of the napkin, roll it towards the opposite point.
🐇 Fold the roll in half, then fold again so the ends of the napkin overlap the folded side a little.
🐇 Rubberband the side with the two folded ends to keep it together.
🐇 Prop the 'ears' or the pointed ends of the napkin upward.

You can never go wrong with a tried & true Tuna Sandwich. But for Easter, these Crescent "🥕" Rolls are next level. It's crunchy exterior adds amazing texture that's so yummy and easy to make with just a few ingredients.

1 can Crescent Rolls
Foil
2 cans tuna + mayo & pepper
fresh sprouts

🥕 Roll foil into "carrot"-like cones. Make 8 to 10 cones.
🥕 Unroll crescent rolls onto a foil lined baking sheet.
🥕 Use a pizza cutter to cut dough into 8 to 10 strips.
🥕 Lay a cone at an angle on one end of a dough strip, and roll dough around the cone.
🥕 Repeat until all dough is used.
🥕 Space cones evenly on the baking sheet.
🥕 Bake at 375℉ for 10 to 12 minutes.
🥕 While cones are baking, prep filling by mixing tuna, mayo and pepper to taste.
🥕 When dough is cool, carefully remove foil cones by squeezing foil and slowly twisting and pulling cones from dough.
🥕 Fill dough with tuna mix.
🥕 Insert fresh sprouts, parsley, or cilantro into the tuna for the "carrot tops"

This Lucky Rainbow Bark is an easy and fun way to make something sweet with the keiki!

🌈 white candy melts (your choice of white chocolate or almond bark)
🌈 Lucky Charms cereal
🌈 rainbow sour candy belts
🌈 rainbow candy (Nerds)
🌈 sprinkles
🌈 food coloring

Melt candy according to the package directions. I found it easiest to melt the candy melts directly in the parchment paper lined dish you'll use to set your bark. Just make sure it's microwave friendly! Add drops of food coloring and swirl with a toothpick or chopstick. Get the kids ready and top with your favorite candies quickly before it starts to harden! We chose Lucky Charms, rainbow sour belts, Nerds and sprinkles! Pop the bark into the fridge until it hardens. When it's ready, remove the parchment paper and cut or break into pieces.

Treat your boo crew with D.I.Y Pumpkin Treat Bags!
🎃 dessert plates
🎃 orange tissue paper

Place assorted candy in a dessert plate. Flip a second plate upside down over the candy. Tape edges securing the two plates to each other.

Cover the plates with tissue paper, bunching the excess on one end as the pumpkin top. Tape as needed on the back to keep tissue in place.

Slip the pumpkin into a clear bag and tie the top closed with ribbon.

Tape the corners of the clear bag to the back of the pumpkin

Using a permanent marker, draw a jack-o-lantern face on the front of the pumpkin. You can also cut out shapes with black paper and glue on the pumpkin as an alternative.

½ cup isopropyl alcohol (90% or higher)
2 tbsp cup aloe vera gel
20 drops essential oil

🧼 GET CLEANIN':
1/4 c. rubbing alcohol
1/4 c. white vinegar
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 c. warm water

Stir and pour into a spray bottle. Spray glass or mirrors and wipe off with recycled newspaper for a streak free shine!

Note: The mix may settle inbetween uses. Shake well before each use.

Get Cleanin':
🧽 1/4 cup White Vinegar
🧽 1 1/2 cup Baking Soda
🧽 1/2 cup Dish Liquid

Mix vinegar, baking soda and dish liquid until a thick paste forms. Rub onto stove and let sit overnight.
Wipe clean with a sponge!

#Tip: Use extra paste on your toaster oven and oven racks!

Note: Be careful of vents, lights and openings when applying and removing the paste. Leftover paste residue in the oven may result in an odd smell during initial use after cleaning.

Roll your way to a win on 🏈 (with the game & your tummy) with these Cheesesteak Rolls!

This Cheesesteak Rolls recipe takes the cheesey goodness of a Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich and turns it into easy finger foods to make snacking duing the game quick & 'ono!

1 onion, diced
1 to 2 green bell peppers, diced
3 tbsp butter
1 to 2 tbsp sugar
1 lb. thin sliced batayaki beef
1 can Pillsbury pizza dough
8 oz. cream cheese, whipped or spread
Provolone Cheese Slices
cilantro (optional)

Heat butter over medium-high heat, and stir fry onions and bell peppers. Sprinkle sugar over vegetables. Add 1 lb. beef, and cook until browned and veggies are caramelized. Set aside to cool.
Unroll pizza dough onto a greased baking sheet. Top with a layer of cream cheese. Layer sliced of provolone over cream cheese. Next, add cooled beef mixture evenly over the cheese. Optional: Finish with fresh cilantro.

Start at the long end and gently roll the edge inward. Continue rolling until you have a long log. Cut log into 1/2" to 3/4" slices, and space 2 apart.

Heat oven to oven to 350 degrees F and bake for 12 to 20 minutes or until golden brown

You'll always have a 'pizza' my heart! Sometimes people give roses to show their affection. We've got something even better... PIZZA ROSES! Talk about a bouquet that smells as amazing as it tastes!

Get Cookin':
Pillsbury Crescents
Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
Marinara or Pizza Sauce
Salami or Pepperoni

Unroll cresent dough on a cutting board and smooth out dough perforations.
Use a pizza cutter to cut 6 long trips into the dough and separate strips.
Flatten 1 strip on a flat surface.
Drizzle marinara sauce down the center of the dough.
Overlap salami in a line down the dough.
Top with mozzarella.
Along the long end, fold the edge toward the center of the strip.
Start at one end and gently roll the dough up.
Carefully place "roses" into a muffin pan.
Bake at 375 degrees for 13 minutes or until golden brown.

Deck the halls with homemade Salt Dough Ornaments!

With only 3 ingredients, this recipe is even better than the air dry method (3 to 4 days) and baking method (2 to 3 hours), because it's ready in 3 minutes or less!

Get Creative:
❄ 1 cup flour
❄ 1/2 cup salt
❄ 1/2 cup water

Mix flour and salt together. Gradually add water. Mix and add more water slowly as needed to reach a doughy consistency. Knead dough on a flour prepared surface until smooth. Roll dough evenly until about 1/4 inch thick.
Cut out shapes with a cookie cutter or use a free printable snowflake template available for download on our pinterest page! (pinterest.com/ktasuperstores). Use a chopstick, skewer or straw to make a small hole for stringing the ornament. When your shapes are ready, gently place onto a microwave safe dish. Microwave in 10 second increments for up to 3 minutes or until it hardens. (Microwaving in long times may result in burning.) When ornaments are hard and cool to the touch, add ribbon or string! Hang on the tree!

SUPPLIES:
Glass Jars
Tissue Paper
Paper
Permanent Marker
School Glue (dries clear)
Paintbrush
Water
Paper Plate
Scissors
Tealight

🎃 Fold tissue paper into small squares, and cut or rip into small pieces.
🎃 Separate the individual pieces and colors, set aside.
🎃 Pour a little glue into a plate.
🎃 Slowly add water to thin out glue and mix well.
🎃 Prep space with cardboard, old newspapers or paper bags.
🎃 Brush glue mixture onto a glass jar ad layer with pieces of tissue paper.
🎃 Gently brush glue over the tissue to secure. Repeat until the entire surface is covered, then set aside.
🎃 Draw lantern faces on a blank paper with a black permanent pen.
🎃 Cut out faces with scissors.
🎃 While the jars are still wet, add the faces. Brush on more glue is needed.
🎃 Coat well with glue mixture and let dry.
🎃 Wait until nightfall and add a tealight!
