Ingredients
1.5 lbs. teriyaki beef, sliced
2 tbsp cornstarch, divided
salt, to taste
2 tbsp oil, divided
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/3 cup water
1 tbsp beef bouillon
1/2 tsp sesame oil
3 tbsp brown sugar
3 tbsp shoyu
3 tbsp oyster sauce
2 heads broccoli
4 cloves garlic, diced
2 inches ginger, grated
roasted sesame seeds, to taste
Instructions
Cut the teriyaki beef slice into pieces of approximately one inch wide. In a bowl, combine the meat, cornstarch, salt, 1 tbsp of olive oil, and baking soda. Set the bowl aside and let the meat sit to tenderize for 10 to 15 minutes.
In a separate bowl, combine the water and beef bouillon. Once combined, add in the sesame oil, brown sugar, shoyu, and oyster sauce and mix thoroughly.
Next, wash the broccoli and chop off the stems. Then, continue by cutting the head into smaller pieces. Bring a pot of water to a boil and add in the broccoli. Let it cook for 3 minutes then immediately remove the broccoli from the heat to blanch in a bowl of cold water and ice.
In a pan, heat up the remaining 1 tbsp of oil on medium heat. Next, add in the meat, garlic, and ginger and cook until the meat is browned. Then, pour the sauce mixture directly into the pan and drop the heat down to low. Once the sauce start to simmer, add in the broccoli. Continue to cook for 2 minutes and then add in a cornstarch slurry by combining cornstarch and water. Once your ideal sauce consistency is achieved, remove the pan from the heat. Top your dish off with roasted sesame seeds, serve, and enjoy!
